An introducing broker (IB) refers clients to your brokerage and earns a rebate on the trading activity of those clients. The IB owns the relationship and the marketing; you own the platform, execution, and back office. How multi-level rebate structures work
Multi-level (or 'master IB') structures let IBs recruit sub-IBs beneath them, forming a tree. When a trader generates volume, the rebate flows up through every level of that tree according to the rates you have configured. A master IB earns an override on the activity their sub-IBs bring in, which motivates them to build and support a network rather than just refer a handful of clients.
A typical rebate flow
- A referred client trades 10 lots of EURUSD
- The direct IB earns their per-lot rebate on that volume
- The master IB above them earns a smaller override per lot
- Each rebate is logged, attributed, and queued for payout automatically
